Our daughter was born and brought up in Singapore. She did her kindergarten and primary school in Singapore till she was 8 years old. We had moved into Jakarta from Singapore last year and my daughter had to start her second term of Primary 3 in Jakarta.
After a few weeks in her new school, she was disinterested in going to school. She used to cry at school every morning after we dropped her in school and refused to let us go back home. This became even worse if we stayed back with her and she refused to part with us and attend class even after a few hours.
We tried talking to her and encouraging her but nothing worked. She was very upset about moving out of Singapore and she said she missed her friends there and she wished to go back to Singapore.
We spoke to the school student counselor who suggested we speak to Ms.Lily at Passion Psychology.
After assessing our daughter and learning from us about her situation Ms. Lily recommended we try the play therapy. She explained play therapy as a nondirective method that is being followed in child psychology.
Our daughter has now completed her therapy. She has overcome her anxiety towards her new environment and is comfortable with her new school. She has made new friends and is happy at school now.
We sincerely thank Ms. Lily for helping us with our daughter and giving us proper guidance when it was most needed.
Thanks
